Intuitive Eating is an evidenced-based approach to eating developed by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch. Intuitive Eating focuses on healing the relationship between the body’s internal physical cues of hunger/fullness and a person’s emotions, taste preferences, food beliefs/rules, and experiences. The relationship between the mind and body is examined in depth and explored without judgment.
The goal is to recreate a relationship with food and body where the client can eat a balance of all foods without judgement or anxiety as well as without overeating or under-eating.
Clients are typically all different ages and have all different backgrounds with nutrition and dieting.
Julie Knopp has received specialized training from one of the founders of the Intuitive Eating approach – Evelyn Tribole – and is certified as a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.
